West Henrietta, NY—Lewis Tree Service has pledged $100,000 to the Monroe Community College (MCC) Foundation to help college students facing financial challenges achieve their educational goals.
The Lewis Tree donation will be distributed over the next four years and is intended to meet both the immediate and long-term scholarship needs of Monroe Community College students. Beginning this fall, the Lewis Tree Service Scholarship will benefit Class of 2016 high school graduates who are enrolling in MCC; 50 percent of the pledge also will be allocated to an endowed fund which will provide scholarships in perpetuity. The scholarships funded by Lewis Tree will be made available to students who enroll full-time at MCC, consistently maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher and demonstrate both financial need and a commitment to learning.
“Every member of our employee-owned company is committed to investing in this community and in those who shape its future,” stated Thomas R. Rogers, President and CEO of Lewis Tree. “One of Lewis’ core values is ‘improvement-minded.’ We are proud of the students who become MCC scholarship recipients as they clearly demonstrate a strong devotion to this shared value. We are hopeful that our support will enable them to succeed and build strong futures for themselves and the community at large.”
“We are proud that so many MCC graduates are among the senior leadership team at Lewis Tree,” said MCC Foundation Executive Director Diane Shoger. “And we are extremely grateful for the company’s investment in helping MCC students achieve their goals. Scholarships can often mean the difference in someone’s ability to attend college. With this extraordinary commitment, Lewis Tree Service is helping dreams come true for deserving students in our community.”
